Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Microsoft Office 365 Subscriptions can only be purchased in the country/region you currently live in. So, you can continue using your Office 365 apps until the subscription expires. If it's nearing the expiry date, visit the Services & Subscriptions page and cancel your Office 365 subscription there.

Once the subscription has been canceled and the current billing period has ended, you can purchase a new Microsoft 365 subscription using the same Microsoft account. At that time, you can use a credit card or any other payment method available in the country/region where you are purchasing the subscription. The subscription will then be billed in the currency supported for that country/region.

To pay Microsoft 365 in euros instead of New Taiwan dollars with the same (euro) credit card, two things must align: the subscription’s region and the payment method’s country/region. When they don’t match, payments can fail with the symptoms described.

    Follow these steps in order:

    1. Check the subscription region and status
      • Go to the Microsoft 365 Subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services
      • Confirm the existing Microsoft 365 subscription is still tied to the original (Taiwan) region. If it is, it will continue to bill in NT$.
    2. Understand region limitations for subscriptions
      • A Microsoft 365 subscription generally cannot be moved directly to a different country/region.
      • If the subscription was purchased for Taiwan, it must either:
        • Be allowed to expire, or
        • Be cancelled, and then a new subscription can be purchased for Germany.
      • This behavior is described in the guidance for changing region: an existing subscription in another region must be gone before purchasing in the new region.
    3. Cancel or let the Taiwan subscription expire
      • If immediate change is needed, cancel the current Taiwan-region subscription from the Services & subscriptions page.
      • After cancellation and once it is fully expired, a new subscription can be purchased in the new region (Germany), which will bill in euros.
    4. Set the Microsoft account region to Germany
      • Go to the Your info page: https://account.microsoft.com/profile
      • Edit profile info and change the country/region to Germany.
      • This step is required before adding a payment method for a different country.
    5. Add the euro credit card as a German payment method
      • After the profile region is set to Germany, go to the Payment options page: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments
      • Select Add a new payment method and add the euro credit card issued for Germany (or another euro-area country).
      • If the card still cannot be added, verify with the bank that there are no security blocks and that the card is issued for the same country/region as the account. If issues persist, contact Microsoft support.
    6. Purchase or renew Microsoft 365 in Germany (EUR)
      • With the account region set to Germany and the euro card added, purchase or renew Microsoft 365 again.
      • The subscription will now be billed in euros, using the German-region payment method.

If activation or renewal in a different region still fails (for example, due to region mismatch), contact Microsoft Support for region/activation issues and for help if the subscription cannot be renewed in the new region.
