Hello, I've been trying to log into my teams account on my tablet for the past week. However, everytime I click next after writing my university email I just see a white screen and nothing happens. I read an article to delete microsoft account from my tablet's saved ones but it made everything worse. Now I dont have access to any microsoft app. What can I do? Is it my tablet's fault (too old system version)?

    Hi @Aleksandra Żurek,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how inconvenient it must be to be unable to sign in to Microsoft Teams on your tablet - especially after trying several steps and now losing access to all Microsoft apps.

Possible causes of this issue include:

    • WebView/Chrome malfunction: Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft apps rely on Android System WebView or Google Chrome to display the sign‑in page. If WebView or Chrome is outdated, disabled, or corrupted, the embedded login screen may fail to load and show only a white blank page.
    • Corrupted authentication data (cache/tokens): Damaged or outdated sign‑in tokens and cached data in Teams or Outlook can interrupt the authentication flow and prevent the login page from loading correctly.
    • Removing the Microsoft account disrupted SSO: Deleting the Microsoft account from the device breaks the single sign‑on (SSO) process, causing Microsoft apps to fail when trying to authenticate again

Here are suggestion steps you can try:

1/ Try the web version as a temporary workaround

Before I go into troubleshooting, please try signing in from your browser:

If these load successfully, you can continue working from the web.

    2/ Update required system components

Open the Google Play Store, then update:

    • Android System WebView
    • Google Chrome (If Chrome is disabled, enable it first, then update.)

Teams relies on these components to load the sign‑in page, so outdated versions can cause the blank white screen you’re seeing.

3/ Clear sign‑in cache for affected apps

Go to: Settings > Apps > Teams > Storage > Clear Cache > Clear Data

Please repeat the same steps for:

    • Outlook
    • Microsoft Authenticator (if installed)

Then restart your tablet and try signing in again.

    4/ Update the Teams app

Open the Play Store > Microsoft Teams and update to the latest version. Microsoft periodically retires older mobile branches; being up‑to‑date avoids auth changes that older builds don’t support.

    If the issue continues;

Since this is a university account, your school’s IT department can run a Microsoft sign‑in diagnostic or open a support case with Microsoft through Admin Center.

This information helps Microsoft support identify authentication failures.

I hope this information helps. Please try the steps and let me know whether they resolve the issue. If the problem persists, we can work together to find a solution.

The issue is unlikely to be caused only by the Android 11 version. Teams supports Android devices, and sign-in failures are usually related to account, authentication, or app issues rather than OS age.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Reinstall Teams and Outlook
Since the Microsoft account was removed from the device and now no Microsoft apps work, completely remove and reinstall the apps:
      • Uninstall Microsoft Teams (and Outlook if installed).
      • Restart the tablet.
      • Reinstall Teams from the Google Play Store.
      • Open Teams and try signing in again with the university email and password.
    2. Check basic sign-in and account status
      • Confirm the university Microsoft 365 account still works by signing in on a browser (for example, on a PC or another device).
      • If sign-in fails everywhere, contact the university IT/admin to check the account and password.
    3. Verify modern authentication / MFA requirements
Education tenants typically use modern authentication and may require multi-factor authentication (MFA):
      • After entering the email, the sign-in should redirect to the university’s login page or Microsoft sign-in page.
      • If the organization requires extra verification (code, SMS, Authenticator app), complete that step.
      • If the white screen appears where MFA should show, it may be a device/browser rendering issue; ensure the tablet’s browser and WebView components are updated from Google Play.
    4. If this is a Teams-certified Android device (panel/phone/display)
If the tablet is actually a Teams-certified Android device (Teams display/phone/panel) managed by the university:
      • The tenant administrator should check the device’s sign-in status in Microsoft Entra sign-in logs under User sign-ins (non-interactive) for failures with Microsoft Authentication Broker and Device Registration Service.
      • If affected, the admin should follow the guidance in Certified Android devices get signed out of Teams to sign out and sign in again, or reset the device if needed.
    5. Contact university IT/admin
If the problem persists (white screen after email, no progress), it may be related to the university’s domain, Office 365 configuration, Conditional Access, or device compliance policies. Only the IT admin can check and fix:
      • Domain or tenant issues preventing sign-in to Teams.
      • Conditional Access policies that block or loop sign-in on Android devices.
      • Any requirement that the device be compliant or managed before Teams can be used.

    Explain to the IT/admin:

    • That Teams on Android 11 shows a white screen after entering the university email.
    • That removing the Microsoft account from the device broke sign-in to all Microsoft apps.
    • Whether the account still works on other devices.

They can then review sign-in logs and policies and guide through any required steps.
