Had a pop-up on my computer on June 16th and had Bitdefender help me with the issue. Unfortunately to solve the issue he made me delete the browsing data. The pop-up disappeared and have all kinds of issue when I am on my home page.

All the recent favourites are not showing, the favourites sites below the "search the web" are not the recent ones that I had.

Some News items, with videos are uploading correctly - they are gray and when I click on them, it does not open.

MSN watchlists does not update my watchlists.

Also my history with MSN support does not show the last request.

Is there something wrong MSN today.

Need your help ASAP

Deleting browsing data in the browser can reset personalization and cached content for MSN, which explains why favorites, watchlists, and some news items no longer appear or load as before.

Take these steps to restore and stabilize the MSN experience:

  1. Check personalization and interests on MSN
    • On the MSN homepage, select Personalize in the navigation menu.
    • Review and reselect topics and interests. This helps rebuild the feed and watchlists so content appears correctly.
    • If using Microsoft Edge, use the Personalize option on the default homepage or new tab page to adjust topics as needed.
  2. Verify sign-in and account-based personalization
    • Ensure sign-in with the correct Microsoft account in Edge and MSN.
    • When signed in, account preferences are used to personalize MSN content, including interests and favorites.
    • If accessing MSN from the Windows taskbar, the Microsoft account signed in to Windows is used; if from Edge’s new tab page, the account signed in to Edge is used.
    • If wanting to avoid account-based tracking for a while, sign out from Edge Settings > Profile or use InPrivate mode.
  3. Check hidden sources and blocked content
    • If some news items or sources are missing, open any news story, select the menu on that story, and verify that sources are not hidden.
    • To manage hidden publishers, go to the My Interests page on MSN and select Blocked list to remove any sources that should be visible.
  4. Confirm general browser health (Edge)
    • If pages or videos appear gray or fail to open, clear cache again in Microsoft Edge using the guidance under Clear your cache in Edge help.
    • If issues persist, review Edge troubleshooting topics such as What to do if Microsoft Edge isn't working or Troubleshoot installing and updating to ensure Edge itself is functioning correctly.
  5. MSN support history and feedback
    • If previous MSN support history is missing, this may be tied to cleared cookies or sign-in state. After confirming sign-in, submit new feedback using the feedback tool on MSN (typically at the lower right corner while viewing content) to report ongoing issues.

If, after these steps, MSN still does not behave correctly, use the feedback tool on MSN to report that personalization, watchlists, and videos are not updating or loading as expected.

    Hi Candy Gagnon,

Based on your description, it appears the issue started after the browser data was cleared. MSN stores some personalization settings locally and through your Microsoft account, so removing browsing data can sometimes cause favorites, watchlists, and page preferences to temporarily reset or stop displaying as expected.

To help isolate the issue, please try the following checks:

    1. Open MSN in an InPrivate window (Ctrl + Shift + N) and check whether the news articles and videos load normally.
    2. Sign in to MSN from another device and verify whether your watchlists and favorites appear there.
    3. In Edge, create a new browser profile and test MSN while signed in with the same Microsoft account.

These checks can help determine whether the issue is related to the current browser profile or to how your account data is syncing. If your watchlists, favorites, and support history are also missing on another device while signed in to the same account, please let me know.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.
