A collaborative workspace app in Microsoft 365 designed to help teams co-create, stay organized, and work together in real time across apps and devices.
Dear @inkknight101,
I understand how frustrating it can be when a Loop component fails to display properly inside Microsoft Teams, especially when it works perfectly in the standalone OneNote app.
This issue usually occurs due to a known authentication or rendering sync conflict between the embedded OneNote Online viewer inside Teams and the Loop service. When Teams attempts to render the embedded notebook, the session token for the Loop component sometimes fails to refresh, causing the content to disappear after the initial flash.
To resolve this, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
Step 1; Clear the Teams Client Cache
Cached credentials in Teams often interfere with the live syncing of Loop components.
- Close Microsoft Teams completely (right-click the Teams icon in your taskbar and select Quit).
- Press
Windows Key + Rto open the Run dialog box. - Type
%appdata%\Microsoft\Teams(for classic Teams) or%localappdata%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe(for new Teams) and press Enter. - Delete all files and folders inside this directory.
- Restart Teams and check the notebook again.

Step 2: Verify Embedded Loop Permissions
Since the component works in OneNote, the underlying file is intact. The issue is strictly with the Teams container permissions.
- Open the notebook in OneNote for the Web (via a browser at OneDrive/SharePoint).
- Click on the Loop component link to open it directly in the Loop web
- Check the Share settings at the top right to ensure that the members of the Teams channel have explicit access to the underlying Loop file.
Step 3: Use the "Open in Browser" Workaround
If the Teams desktop app continues to fail to render the component, it is a localized rendering glitch.
- Inside the Teams tab where the notebook is open, look at the top menu bar and click Open in Desktop App or Open in Browser.
- Opening the notebook in its native environment bypasses the Teams iframe rendering restriction and will allow the Loop component to load immediately.
Step 4: Loop Disabled or Restricted by Admin:
Administrators can disable the interactive Loop experience for their tenant. When disabled, existing components will no longer render as interactive content and will appear as simple hyperlinks or empty frames, often leading to the "load and clear" behavior you described.
Official Note: Microsoft is continuously optimizing the cross-app integration of Loop components. For optimal performance and full feature support, Microsoft recommends interacting with Loop components directly within the native OneNote desktop application or the standalone Loop web interface.
