    Hi Travis,

In this situation, the only reliable way to get replacement product keys is directly through Microsoft’s official support channels. If the install team didn’t provide them, you’ll need to request reissue from Microsoft by opening a support case tied to your licensing agreement. The fastest route is to contact Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) or your licensing reseller, since product keys are distributed through those portals. If you’re being disconnected by phone, try submitting a case online through the VLSC portal or escalate via your Microsoft account representative. Avoid third‑party sources, only Microsoft or your licensed reseller can legally reissue valid keys.

You can start by reaching out through the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center, checking your reseller account, or opening a support case.

    Harry.

For SQL Server 2022 Standard, product keys are obtained from the licensing channel used to purchase the licenses. Replacement keys are not issued directly through technical support; instead, use the appropriate portal or licensing contact.

Use these steps depending on how SQL Server was licensed:

    1. Volume Licensing (Enterprise Agreement, Select/Select Plus, MPSA, etc.)
      • SQL Server volume license product keys are embedded in the installation media and automatically detected during setup, so a separate key is often not needed.
      • To locate the key manually:
        1. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Billing > Your products, then select the Volume licensing tab.
        2. In Products and services, select View downloads and keys.
        3. Find SQL Server in the product list and select the View downloads icon.
        4. In the product details panel, select one or more Components, then select Download.
        5. On the downloaded media, open the x64 folder.
        6. Open the DefaultSetup.ini file; the SQL Server license product key is displayed there.
      • If the order or keys are not visible, submit a case via Help & Support in the admin center or contact Volume Licensing Support to have the entitlement and keys checked.
    2. Visual Studio subscription (if SQL Server came via subscription)
      • Sign in to the Visual Studio Subscriptions portal.
      • Go to the Product Keys page or select the blue key icon next to the SQL Server download to view or export the SQL Server keys.
      • If keys/downloads are disabled, contact the subscription administrator to enable access.
    3. Other channels / reseller
      • If SQL Server was purchased from a reseller or distributor and keys were not provided, contact that reseller to obtain the keys tied to the purchase.
      • If the reseller cannot provide keys or the keys appear invalid, work with Microsoft Licensing Support via the Volume Licensing or Microsoft 365 admin channels referenced above.

If the original install media is pre-pidded (key embedded), an Edition Upgrade or reinstall using that media may not require manually entering a key, but license documentation from the licensing portal or reseller must still be retained for compliance.
