MS Lists app in Teams doesn't allow uploading image. In sharepoint, it works

In the Microsoft Teams app, when creating a list and attempting to attach an image, the upload fails with a “File not found” error. However, when accessing the same list through SharePoint, the image upload works without any issues. What could be causing this problem?

I have already verified that the Teams connection to OneDrive is functioning correctly.

I also tested uploading local files, but the issue persists.

Additionally, the same behavior occurs in the web version of Teams.

Has anyone else been able to reproduce this issue? Is this a known Microsoft problem?

Can anyone recreate the issue by adding Lists app as a tab in your channel and add image column in it. Now, add any test image and check if it is working in Teams.

Hi @Duggirala Venkata Sai Rajeev Sharan,

Thank you for sharing the details of your issue.

After reviewing your description, I went ahead and tested this in my own environment. In both the Teams desktop app and Teams on the web, I was able to add a new item in a List tab within a channel and upload an image successfully without encountering the “File not found” error.

I also checked the Microsoft 365 Service Health dashboard and didn’t see any official announcements related to this behavior at the moment.

So help narrow this down further, could you please try a few quick checks for me:

    • Try adding an item to a List in a different channel. Does the same issue occur there?
    • Try creating a new List tab in the same channel and test uploading an image again. Is the behavior the same?
    • Does this happen with other users in your organization as well, or only with your account?

Your answers will really help determine whether this is scoped to a specific list, channel, or user context.

I truly appreciate you taking the time to report this, and I’ll also keep an eye out to see if there are any similar reports coming in. If you have any updates, please leave a comment under this post. This is the best way for me to receive notifications and follow up with you promptly.

Thank you so much for your time and looking forward to your update!
