Good day: Friends & Colleagues and Thank You for being there for me and us

Read load Selections (Under more tools) and Voice Options are suddenly stopped when I chose another voice, I guess recently added

Appreciate if you could tell me how can restore this feature

Thank You for your time and wish all a peaceful weekend, wherever you are

In Outlook and Word, Read Aloud and voice options can stop working or switch to different voices after changes or updates. To restore the feature and adjust the voice:

  1. Make sure the app is signed in
    • In Outlook or Word, confirm that the Microsoft 365 account is signed in.
    • If already signed in, sign out and sign back in.
  2. Restart the app
    • Close Outlook or Word completely.
    • Reopen the app and test Read Aloud again.
  3. Turn Read Aloud back on (Outlook on the web)
    • Select View.
    • Select Immersive Reader.
    • Press the Play button at the bottom of the screen to start Read Aloud.
  4. Adjust voice settings
    • In Outlook Immersive Reader or Read Aloud, select Voice settings.
    • Move the Voice Speed slider between Slow and Fast as needed.
    • Under Voice Selection (or Male/Female in Immersive Reader), choose a different voice.
    • Press Play to test the selected voice.
  5. If Read Aloud is missing or still not working
    • Ensure there is a stable internet connection.
    • Restart the app again.
    • If neural or more natural voices are not available, they may require being online and signed in to Microsoft 365.

If the problem started after choosing a newly added voice, switching back to another available voice in Voice settings and restarting the app usually restores Read Aloud.
