Copilot chat agent response not showing until chat is reopened

Hi,

Trying to create a declarative Copilot chat agent. Setup so far:

  1. Bot service with Teams + M365 channels

User-assigned identity added

Teams app created via Teams Dev Portal

App is published and visible in Copilot

Backend receives messages and sends responses

Tested both BotBuilder 4.16.2 and Teams-AI 1.7.0

Tried all combinations: send_activities, continue_conversation, text/cards/indicators, proactive, etc.

Problem:

Copilot shows typing for 1–5s, then nothing

Switching chats and returning shows the message

Works fine in standard Teams chat (non-Copilot)

    Thanks for reaching out. The issue you're experiencing, where the Copilot chat agent shows typing but doesn't display the message immediately, is a known problem. The product team is aware and working on a fix. As a temporary workaround, you can switch to another chat and then return to the Copilot chat to refresh and display the message.
